“If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.”

Always a treat to be part of your events, John!
Back in 2013, I entertained at the annual gala for Silicon Valley National Association for Catering and Events. Had a great time and made some new friends.
Last night I was booked on an event by the past president of the SV NACE Chapter and before I took the stage, she presented me with this award for Best of the Industry 2014.
Had no idea and it caught me completely by surprise. Flattered and honored. Thanks, SV NACE!
Great little article at inc.com about 7 successful entrepreneurs who started out as magicians. Some of them even keep up with it.

“Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man’s desire to understand.”
I'm often asked if I know how all the magic works. If I were to see something performed, would I know how the secret. Sometimes yes, sometimes not.
So, let me introduce you to a beautiful mystery of the Piddington's -- a performance they gave over the radio, mind you. The Ugly Truth behind it is only a click away. I choose to #wonder about it. How about you?
Do let me know what you decide.
“...we suggest that people insist on experiencing more everyday awe, to actively seek out what gives them goose bumps...”
Our son's school has an outstanding PTA which fosters a great sense of community. The big fundraising event each year is a gala evening for the grown-ups with a silent auction that includes "Pay-to-Play" events -- a variety of one-of-a-kind experiences hosted by parents to raise money for school programs.
Couldn't think of a better way to be involved than to organize an intimate, little evening of magic for a select audience.
As this was our first go at something like this, we capped the event at 5 couples and quickly met the limit. Guests arrived and were offered hors d'oeuvres, wine and beer. Once settled, I presented just over an hour of close-up magic behind the bar.
Hopefully this is the start of something special.
